  • To improve understanding of different work and skills

FAQs for Exhibitors

How much is it to have a stand at the event?

There is no charge for having a stand at the event. The aim of the event is to include a breadth of sectors and ensuring that there is enough space to showcase as much as possible, the range opportunities in Guernsey. The registrations will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis based on the stand allocation for each sector.

Which sectors will be represented at the Show?

Sectors will include:

  • Retail & Customer Service
  • Financial Services & Law
  • Construction
  • Engineering
  • Technology & Digital
  • Media & Creative
  • Education & Training
  • Environment, Animals & Plants
  • Careers Advice & Personal Development
  • Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism
  • Health & Social Care
  • Security, Emergency Response & Armed Forces

I really want to support the Show and its aims but can't commit to being there all the time. How could I still support?

You may find there are other organisations similar to yours in this position too and so it may work to consider pooling your resources and allocating time slots for each organisation. This helps ensure that you can all still benefit from increasing visitor awareness of the opportunities available, rather than missing out entirely.

You can also visit the 'Supporting the Future Workforce' on our website to find out more about other ways to support.

You can email careersshow@gov.gg directly if you want to find out more about ways you could still attend the event.

What is provided on the stand?

The standard stand size is 4m x 2m.

There will be no electricity points on each stand. There is a limited supply of electricity points but this will depend on availability.

All stands will be allocated a table and 2 chairs.  We advise bringing a table covering with you as there will not be any provided on the day.

Can we bring our own display banners?

Yes, you can bring banners as long as they fit within the allocated space. We encourage exhibitors to consider the audience at the event and their design of their stand/pop up banners accordingly. The aim is to increase awareness of job roles, career pathways and opportunities rather than just displaying the brand.

What can we provide on our stand?

We encourage all exhibitors to plan a 'Have a Go' activity as this is a really good way to break the ice with visitors to your stand. Once your stand is confirmed, we will ask you to let us know what activity you have planned.

We would discourage food/sweets/drinks being provided to visitors and would encourage more 'Have a Go' activities to help visitors to your stand.

How will the event be advertised?

The event will be promoted via social media on Careers Guernsey and the States of Guernsey channels and website, including a Facebook Event page.

Pop-up banners and posters will be positioned around the island to advertise the event and media releases to the local radio, television and newspaper.

You can also promote visiting the Show on your own channels and we encourage you to use:

@careersguernsey
#GsyCareers2023

Which student year groups will be attending and how will they have been prepared?

Students from Year 9, Year 10, Year 11 and Post-16 will attend the event throughout the day on the Thursday. A schedule of students visiting will be available at your stand when you arrive to set up.  The expectation is that all schools/Post-16 and Colleges will be sending students throughout the day so that there is a good flow of visitors up until closing time.

When will be able to set up our stand?

You will be able to have access to the hall from 12.30 on the Wednesday 6th December.

When do we need to take our stand down and are we able to leave anything at Beau Sejour to be collected the next day?

All stands will need to be taken down after 16.00 on the Thursday 7th December when the event closes. Everything must be removed from Beau Sejour and the halls left clear, unless prior agreement has been made with the centre for you to collect items the following morning.

How do I register my interest for a stand at the Show?

Initial registration is now closed.
