Exam results support
Careers Advisers will be available over the next couple of weeks to help students as they find out their exam results.
Students can meet with an adviser to discuss their options in education, training or employment. “Exam results time can be stressful and students may find it helpful to talk through their options with someone, particularly if they are worried that their plans may have to change”, says Head of Careers, Sarah Stonebridge.
Students have already been sent a ‘Leavers leaflet’ outlining their options and the support available and Careers Advisers have been contacting leavers by telephone as part of their annual tracking, “We have targeted our support earlier this year as we anticipate it being more difficult for school leavers to secure jobs. Through our tracking, it is encouraging to find many school/college leavers in employment or training alongside a high percentage that have applied to continue in education”, says Head of Careers, Sarah Stonebridge.
Students who are expecting or already have GCSE, AS, A level, BTEC and other vocational exam results are welcome to get in touch with a Careers Adviser. Parents/Guardians are also invited to get in touch to check what is available as they support their son/daughter with decisions.
The Careers Service is open Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Please
Tel: 733044 or email careers@education.gov.gg to speak to a Careers Adviser. Students can also log on to www.careers.gg to find out more about their options.
