School leaver destinations report for 2008

Each year more than 2000 15-18 year olds decide whether to enter employment or continue in education.

The Careers Service tracks as many of these school leavers as possible.  The destinations recorded are an essential piece of labour market information as they help to :

  • Reflect Guernsey economic trends
  • Indicate labour market opportunities for young people at different levels
  • Inform young people's career planning
  • Inform schools/colleges/ and guidance programmes
