Graduate Teacher Programme 2012-2013
Employment-based Teacher Training in Guernsey.
The University of Brighton, in partnership with the States Education Department, is offering a Graduate Teacher Programme of study in the island, leading to a Qualified Teacher Status (Guernsey).
This is an employment-based route into teaching for people who already hold a good honours degree and is available within both Primary and Secondary Education. Applicants must also have GCSE's, or the equivalent, at Grade C or above, in English, Maths and Science for Primary, and English and Maths for Secondary teaching.
The priority subjects at secondary level for this course are English, Maths, Science and Technology.
Students will be paid on the unqualified teacher scale during the academic year September 2012 to August 2013, and will engage in full-time teaching and training in two local schools.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Midday on Friday 17th February 2012.
