The support of parents for their son/daughter when making choices for work experience is very important. Work experience is an opportunity for young people to experience working life while they are at school. Most students only get one opportunity to do this, so careful consideration of where they choose to go could make a big difference to their future.
How can you, as a parent help?
One of the most important things parents can do for their son/daughter is to encourage them to really look into what is available and discourage them just choosing anything without giving it a thought. Over the years many of our work experience students have been offered a job when they leave school as a result of their placement - so good choices can have good results.
