How can this programme help you - as an employer?
- If you have trouble recruiting young people with the right qualifications and attitude. - If you are frustrated by the lack of knowledge about your industry shown by young people and, - If you are wary of taking on a young person who is an '"unknown quantity" to you
Why not consider offering work experience to students from the island secondary schools?
During the academic year visits are being made by either Michele Clark (GWEx Manager) or Jackie O'Meara (GWEx Administrator) to all employers who agree to take work experience students. These visits are an ideal opportunity for the GWEx representatives to discuss with employers how the new programme works, what students will do whilst on work experience with them and to offer advice to employers on matters such as health and safety etc.
If you want to offer work experience to young people or just more information on the new GWEx Work Experience programme please see the downloadable file below.
