meet the staffWe have eight members of staff who are based at the Guernsey Careers Service- so here is a introduction to who they are and what they do.
Ben Mitchell joined the team in August 2007. Ben previously worked for 11 years with Dorset Careers/Connexions across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.Prior to that he worked with employers and jobseekers for 5 years with the employment service in Bournemouth.Ben is working with young people in schools, those with special needs, supporting unemployed young people into work or training and with local employers.
Michele Clark is the Guernsey Work Experience Manager, her job is to co-ordinate the work experience programme between the secondary schools, the employers and the education department. Michele was previously a Visiting Officer for the Social Security Department but has also had experience as a classroom assistant at Mont Varouf and as Health Promotion Officer in the UK and Jersey.
Jane Ashworth joined as GWex assistant in May 2011. Her role is to support Michele in the co-ordination of work experience between employers, schools and colleges.
Liz Mauger joined the team as a Careers Administration Assistant in November 2005. Her job is to provide admin support for the Service. This will also include maintaining the library, job vacancy enquiries and dealing with the public.
