Higher Education involves sacrifice. The costs are high and the demands are great set against the opportunity for easy money without a commitment to training which is all too available in Guernsey.
Yet all evidence shows that employers value graduates. The most striking proof comes through earning levels of graduates compared to lesser qualified individuals. Locally the learning trends survey provided stark evidence of this.

7% of people without qualifications earned more than £30,000 compared to 35% of those who had obtained a degree.
Alongside this materialistic measure there is evidence that career opportunities and lifestyle generally is positively enhanced by further study.
All this confirms that graduates are a valuable commodity and vital ingredient and can be expected to become even more valued in the future.
